Blindness and vision loss shouldn't depend on where you're born, how much you earn, or who you are. Yet for millions of people, sight-restoring care remains out of reach.

Vision Without Borders goes to them, delivering surgical care, learning from local communities, and working alongside partners to close the gaps that leave so many without the care they deserve.

Organizational Philosophy

Vision Without Borders operates like a startup, not a traditional nonprofit. We reject the guilt-based donor model in favor of genuine mutual partnerships. We prove the model in one location, do it right, then scale.

About the founder

Blake Snyder, MD

Vision Without Borders was founded by Blake Snyder, MD, an ophthalmologist focused on expanding access to sight-restoring surgical care. The work is built around a simple premise: durable care starts with listening, showing up consistently, and working alongside local teams.

His clinical background informs the organization's practical approach: prove the model carefully, do the work well in one place, then scale with partners.
