About Vision Without Borders
A responsive model for expanding access to sight-restoring care through local partnership.

“Let’s get it done - and make it fun.”

About the founder
Blake Snyder, MD, is an ophthalmologist whose training connects surgical care, ophthalmic research, and global health. He earned his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency as chief resident at UC Davis, and trained in uveitis at UCSF’s Francis I. Proctor Foundation. He completed a Global Ophthalmology Fellowship at Stanford Medicine and serves as a Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology.
His research background includes NIH intramural training and two ophthalmology research fellowships at UCSF. Across 17 peer-reviewed publications, his work has addressed avoidable blindness, teleophthalmology, trachoma surveillance, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma screening, and corneal-donation policy. That combination of clinical rigor and field experience shapes Vision Without Borders’ practical, locally led model.
